GHC is excited to announce our newest staff member, Craig Perrett as our Manager of Elite Hockey Operations. With the growth of the Fire program over the last year, we recognized that this role would be an incredible value-add to our program. With a primary focus on building out a development model for female players from U13AA to U18AAA, we are confident that the addition of this role will help enhance our existing athletes and new talent. With the expansion of the additional U18AAA team for the 2024/2025 season, this role could not have come at a more prevalent time.

Craig brings a wealth of knowledge to this position from both a coaching and operational standpoint. Having served as a GHC board member for 5 years (2013 – 2018), Team AB U18 Head Coach (2017 & 2019), Team AB Canada Winter Games Assistant Coach (2019), and Coach Mentor for Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada; Craig’s strong roots and knowledge of the association history and HA model serve as an incredible jumping off point for the role.

Over the past 6 years Craig has been running a successful Female program for the Notre Dame Hounds; turning out not only talented athletes, but young adults with outstanding work ethic and academic results. Prior to his tenure at Notre Dame, Craig was an assistant coach at Mount Royal University. With more than 20 years of coaching experience, we are excited to see his skills and experience translate to the Fire program.

We look forward to welcoming Craig not only into this role within GHC, but also welcoming him back home to Calgary. We are thankful to Craig’s family; wife Sherrell and kids Ryann and Reid for their support as Craig takes on this new endeavor.

With strong ties to our community already, Craig will be hitting the ground running. “I am extremely excited for this opportunity as the Calgary Fire is one of the largest Elite Hockey Organizations in Western Canada.  Their commitment to develop is top notch and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and help take the program to the next level”. Craig will be around the rink during spring Fire skates and will be busy over the coming months preparing for the upcoming season.

Welcome to the team, Craig!
