GOALIE DEVELOPMENT

Goalie Skill Sessions

WHAT WE OFFER

GHC is proud to partner with Top Prospect Goaltending Consultants (TPG) to offer weekly skills sessions to our Jr. Inferno goalies. TPG is Alberta’s only goalie consulting company with a priority focus on the female game. They are the goalie consultants for Team Canada and Team Alberta. Their dedication to female goalie development is a natural fit for GHC!

U11-U18 skill session dates and times will be provided throughout the season and are optimized to provide the best availability per age group.

TPG Consultants for Community Team Practices

Top Prospects Goaltending has given us a preferred rate if goalie families wish to book them to come to any of your community team practices. Please work with both your goalie coach / head coach when doing so. Your goalie coach and the TPG consultant should work side by side so that learning is shared. For more information, please contact our Director of Goaltending Development.

As a compliment to the TPG Development clinics, GHC's credit program gives goalie families the flexibility to book their own 30 minute 1 on 1 session with a professional goalie coach. Each goalie will receive 5 credits to use between November 15-March 15.

For the 2023-24 season, families have the choice to work with two fantastic providers:

  1. Goaltending Development Inc. (GDI) - www.goaliedevelopment.com
  2. World Pro Goaltending - www.worldprogoal.com

We want your daughter’s practice time to be maximized to its fullest. She should never be standing around or without direction. We will work with our head coaches to better engage their goalies with helpful tips on better utilizing our goalies will be going out to them throughout the season. Goalie coaches during the weekly development sessions pre-practice chalk talk for our goalie coaches as presented with goalie coach-centric learning.

Equipment loans are available to goalies in the younger age groups and limited equipment loans in the older age groups. If the loans are issued a postdated deposit cheque of $400 will be required to ensure the loan is returned.

GHC hosts U9 goalie clinics to give those interested girls a chance to train with the professionals. We will work closely with all U9 head coaches and goalie coaches regarding this program. Please spread the word - if you know of someone who might be interested let them know there is great opportunity next season!

As a parent of a goalie and someone who has been around sports development for the past 20 years, seeing female coaches interact with our girls was amazing. GHC's U9 Goalie Sessions allow girls to see what levels female goalies can achieve, ask questions sooner and feel supported in their decision.
