Calgary Fire U18 AAA – Coach Announcement
Girls Hockey Calgary is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jordan Fenton as the U18 AAA Fire Head Coach and Mackenzie Ebel as the Associate Head Coach for the upcoming 2024/2025 season’s new expansion team. Their extensive experience and dedication to player development make them valuable additions to our coaching staff. We believe their expertise will contribute significantly to the success and growth of our U18AAA Fire program.
Jordan Fenton
Jordan has spent the last 10 years coaching female hockey at the U15AA and U18AA levels, as well as working with Hockey Alberta as a coach mentor for several Alberta Winter Games and Alberta Challenges.
Jordan stated that he has been fortunate to have been able to work with many people during his involvement as part of the GHC Family and looks forward to the new opportunity with the Calgary Fire U18AAA team.
“I am honored to have been selected to guide this team into this new era.”
MacKenzie Ebel
MacKenzie, after two years of playing in the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA), she returned to Airdrie, Alberta to take on coaching roles with both the U15AA and U18AA female teams. MacKenzie brings knowledge, enthusiasm, and is dedicated to helping the next generation of female athletes achieve their goals.
Existing U18AAA Fire Head Coach, Kyle Severson, is looking forward to working alongside Jordan and MacKenzie as they build the sister team to Kyle’s team. While the differentiating team names have not been set yet, the presence of two Calgary based U18AAA Fire teams will provide friendly rivalry and increased competition within AFHL.
With the announcement of the Head Coach position filled, GHC will continue to work on restructuring the Fire Elite program governance for the 2024/2025 season. To best serve our coaches, players, and families in the Fire program, we will be hiring a Director of Elite Hockey Operations position.
